18 Aug Pastor Mike Housholder I Calling, Content and the Edge of Chaos
My guest today is Mike Housholder – the pastor of one of the fastest-growing churches in the United States. (Lutheran Church of Hope in Des Moines Iowa. BTW: That’s my church! Woot woot!)
In this episode of the DREAM. THINK. DO. podcast, prepare yourself for A Calling!
“How do I figure what my calling in life really is?”
That was a question someone emailed me recently.
A “calling.” Do you have one? Do you want one?
Are you trying to figure out what yours is?
That’s one of the subjects we dive into in this week’s DTD interview.
Mike knows a thing or two about “calling” and sorting out your calling. (Spoiler alert: He didn’t originally think his “calling” was to be a pastor at all!)
Plus, he knows a lot about growth and leadership too. (When Mike started with the church in the early ‘90s – the congregation was at a solid 15 people. But since then, Hope has grown to include its original location plus four satellite sites, and it serves over 15,000 people!)
In this episode, Mike brings insights on how to recognize and be open to your call, how to succeed at your passion or purpose, and how to create a meaningful, impactful life with your higher purpose at its core.
Don’t miss this authentic and inspiring conversation!
In this episode, we will dig into…
- How you can dig into that big question of “What is MY calling?”
- Learn how to stay the course even when times get tough
- Uncover ways to bolster your creativity (As a pastor, Mike develops a ton of brand new content… weekly!)
- Hear how to stay committed to a cause, even if the growth is slow (Hope’s initial growth felt REALLY slow!)
- Understand how to operate (and even thrive) on the edge of chaos
Let’s dive in for an amazing conversation on figuring your calling, developing content, and operating on the edge of chaos!
