difference between connecting and cultivating!

If you know me… you know I have a heart for connecting.

I love to connect people and I love to connect with people.

I do it as much as I can… and I bet you do too.

But I have to say that the “Guru of Giving” Bob Burg (co-author of the best selling book The Go-Giver) posted on the difference between merely “connecting” with someone… and taking deliberate steps to cultivate that relationship.

More importantly… he links that to our ability to grow a new connection into a true mutually beneficial biz-building relationship!

He does this through coaching entrepreneur and o-Founder, Geoff Hamrick through some of Geoff’s real-world questions on networking.

Here’s a snippet to get your juices flowing…

Geoff, I’m pretty sure I see a big part of the problem. Yes, you “establish” relationships at these events, but that – in and of itself – counts close to nothing. You are right; out of sight – out of mind. And, there is no relationship.

No matter how much of a black-belt level connector you are… we can all grow in our ability to cultivate connections into true relationships!

So check out Bob’s post as well as some of the other great finds on his site!

You’ll be grateful you did!

And in the meantime… keep dreaming BIG and keep connecting BIG,

Mitch Matthews

    Bob…

Your wisdom rang true to me this morning because it compelled me to do better with my own “cultivating.”

    Keep the great stuff coming!

    We all need it buddy!
