26 Feb The Ancient Word That Reframes Worry Completely (And Why Lifelong Worriers Need to Hear It Most) A Solocast with DTD Founder – Mitch Matthews
If you’ve ever gone from calm… to full-blown “Formula 1-level” worry in 2.6 seconds flat… this episode is for you.
In this powerful (and very personal) solo episode, Mitch opens up about his lifelong battle with worry – from illnesses as a kid… to becoming really good at hiding anxiety as an adult… to the wake-up call that finally made him say, “Enough.”
But this isn’t a “just don’t worry about it” talk. (Because we all know that doesn’t work.)
Instead, Mitch brings together:
- Cutting-edge neuroscience
- Powerful research on anxiety and worry
- Ancient wisdom from Scripture
- And practical tools you can use immediately
You’ll discover why worry isn’t a weakness – it’s a superpower that needs to be redirected. (We’ll talk more about that!)
And you’ll learn how to build a simple but powerful framework (called W.A.L.L.) to help you Worry A Lot Less – so you can stop missing your life… and start experiencing it more fully.
If you’ve been feeling the weight of the news cycle, your business, your family, or your future… this conversation might be exactly what you need.
What You’ll Learn
1. Why Worry Is Actually “Creative Thinking Gone Rogue”
2. The Neuroscience of Replacing Worry (Not Suppressing It)
3. The WALL Framework (Version 2.0)
4. How to Reframe “Bad” Outcomes
Worry doesn’t just steal peace.
It steals:
- Presence at dinner
- Focus in meetings
- Creativity in business
- Joy in everyday moments
This episode gives you tools to stop living in imagined horror movies… and start living in your real life.
You don’t have to eliminate worry perfectly.
But you can absolutely worry a lot less.
And that changes everything.

The 30-Day WALL Challenge
Here’s the invitation:
Grab a journal (leather-bound or 69-cent spiral-doesn’t matter).
For 30 days:
- Write down what you’re tempted to worry about.
- List a few alternative (possibly positive) outcomes.
- Add 2-3 things you’re grateful for.
That’s it.
Do it with a friend.
Text each other.
Hold each other accountable.
The research says it works.
Your brain will start looking at the world differently.
And you’ll build your own WALL.
Let’s go!

I had a lot of things to worry about last week, but I have shared those worries with others and I have gotten clarity and peace. I loved the idea of use a journal. I did that in college when I was wrestling with some things and felt some relief and space to process these emotions after writing them down. I still journal thoughts but not as frequent.
